Game on for Nov 4th!
Wednesday, September 10, 2008
The primary determined the top two candidates to appear on the general election ballot so a majority vote would choose the elected candidate. Guess what folks... we're in the chase!
If we compare the votes in favor of Tony Bennett to those against him, there's only a 6.3% difference, 361 votes.
In order to break even on votes, we'd split that in half (votes we gain are votes he loses) which means we needed
only 181 votes to tie-up.
VERY CLOSE INDEED!
Special thanks to those of you who voted in the primary.
The game is now on for November 4th! Please help spread the word that financial accountability is needed for Ramsey County, and Schottmuller is the ticket!
Our current commissioner, my opponent, identified "budget constraints" and "listening to residents" as his top priority. He's apparently not listening too well since the thousands of residents I've spoken to are not interested in tax or spending increases.
There are numerous fixed income families concerned about losing their homes if property taxes go up again.
I'm not about to tell a fixed income family that they're going to lose their home because our commissioner wants to raise his own pay, take annual "congressional visits" to Washington D.C., and add coffee shops and video game rooms to local libraries at the taxpayers' expense.
Do you want to tell them that?
It's time for the county to start living within OUR means. It's time for New Ideas Now!
Join me in my campaign to bring common sense and fiscal responsibility to the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners. In addition to donating, please check out the numerous ways you can get involved to help the campaign.
My Action Plan:
- Resolve issues plaguing the Ramsey County 911 Emergency Call Center (ECC)
- Repeal the commissioners' self-approved 25% pay raise and give it back to taxpayers
- Expose unnecessary county spending and hold the line on taxes
- Improve county collaboration with residents and local government
I want to hear from you! Please contact me with your questions, concerns, and ideas.
Sincerely,
